Position Requirements

Education/Experience:

• Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electronics or Textile Engineering or equivalent 
• 3 to 5 years of solid experience in toy industry preferably at manufacturing field
• Experience in Production Engineering, Project Engineering and/or Costing
• More experience and years in the field can be considered as Senior grade

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:

• Understanding of toy design development and manufacturing process
• Aggressive, proactive, analytical mind, cost sensitive and well organized
• Have negotiation and good interpersonal skills
• Can Speak Cantonese and Mandarin is a plus 
• Provide Product costing support to cross functional team.

Key Result Areas and Activities

Product Specifications Review and Study:

• Review and study all the details on Product Matrix, 2D / 3D drawings, model, components spec, deco callouts, PDB, R&G specification and associated information, ensure them to be quotable
• Participate in regular product status review meeting

Vendor Quotations Analysis and Negotiation:

• Review and follow up detailed quotations from vendors
• Keep track of design changes vs different version of quotations
• Search for the most cost effective suppliers on components
• Conduct cost comparison between vendors, against existing one and internal estimate or outside market in a presntatable manner
• Analyze quotations, identify cost improvement  and negotiated area, devise overall approach for negotiation
• Conduct negotiation with vendors on all aspects of product cost 
• Leverage a final cost and special offer from vendors
• Perform on-site factory visit to verify actual production, conduct time study as needed
• Provide support in Costing Software vendor management

Product Cost Estimation:

• Work on internal product cost estimate basing on the design and engineering input
• Conduct process estimate such as decoration count, process hours for various manufacturing process
• Conduct what if costing estimate for different design and engineering scenarios
• Get with components suppliers for competitive quotes

Identify Cost Drivers and support Product Cost Improvement:

• Analyze, identify cost drivers and cost overrun design
• Propose cost improvement area from manufacturing and product engineering perspective
• Prepare cost options and scenarios
• Participate in cross functional product cost improvement activities  

Database Maintenance :

• Timely upload and maintain approved cost details
• Create Cost Material Breakdown (CMB) for Item Set up
• Costing Software data maintenance and data mining
• Other data maintenance as directed
