Opportunity

The Director, Digital Marketing and Media role is to leverage paid media to create growth for our amazing brands and products.

Our Digital Marketing and Media team is responsible for developing and delivering compelling paid media plans that excite kids and drive consumer demand for our products.

The right candidate will lead a team that will support marketers in setting and executing media strategy that will reach and engage consumers with compelling brand messages. The individual will activate on consumer data and insights, industry trends and innovative entrepreneurship to think differently. 

We are looking for an experienced team leader that can execute with a genuine passion for our products. This role is pivotal in leading day to day operations, planning, creative ideation and working in close partnership with our strong portfolio of existing and emerging brands. This person will focus on generating paid media strategies and tactics – a mix of big, bold vision and day-to-day realization of that vision across media platforms.

Key Result Areas and Activities

  • Agency Management
    1. Lead our Agency partners to success.
    2. Ensure quality and timeliness of briefs, quality of agency deliverables and on-time launch of media plans.
  • Digital Marketing 
    1. Lead digital marketing strategy and execution for MGA Entertainment brands.
    2. Development of digital content and strategy in line with brand messaging. ‘
    3. Develop digital marketing programs across a wide range of channels using highly effective tactics and strategies to deliver maximum brand exposure and ROI, while working with internal and external partners. 
    4. Create synergies amongst all digital efforts to ensure cohesive and maximized plans. 
    5. Differentiate MGA brands from the competition. 
  • Media Planning and Buying 
    1. Oversee the briefing of key Media agency partners.
    2. Strategically lead the relationships between internal requests, creative vision, media budget and schedules. 
    3. Ensure media drives growth in consumer affinity and demand.
  • Driving Business Growth 
  1. Identify new digital opportunities to drive consumer awareness and increase revenue.
  2. Ensure strict KPI management is applied to all initiatives and report on business results.

Position Requirements

Skills/Knowledge/Ability

  • Digitally native, media savvy.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
  • Strategic thinker who excels at coming up with original ideas and is able to execute those ideas. 
  • Ability to integrate digital programs to support marketing goals and programs.
  • Able to perform within an integrated team environment. 
  • Strong digital marketing and media contacts and industry influencers. 
  • Demonstrated success achieving digital-first media goals.
  • Strong analytical skills and passion for interpreting and translating quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights. 
  • Extensive experience developing and managing complex digital programs, developing messaging and delivering measurable results. 
  • Excellent project management skills for managing internal and external resources, setting and managing deadlines, and fielding and prioritizing internal and external inquiries.
  • Exceptional initiative & follow-through skills. 
  • Must be a flexible and creative self-starter who is able to work within an energetic, entrepreneurial environment.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing or similar field
  • 10+ years of experience 
  • 5+ years team leadership and management with direct reports 
  • Track record of leading and developing brands using a variety of marketing vehicles (digital media; total video; social media; consumer marketing; channel marketing; etc.). 
  • Strong leadership, team building and talent development. 
  • Strongly encouraged: Kids and/or Family marketing, Toy experience or quick turn fashion 
  • Additional areas of valuable expertise: CPG, Retail, Entertainment, Gaming
  • Preferred: Diversified experience across big and small companies, start-up entrepreneurial strongly preferred
