Mission: To build, forecast, sell and ensure execution of business plans crafted for retailer to deliver against MGA key brands sales & profit goals.

Position Requirements  

Education/Experience:

    Four-year college degree required; MBA strongly preferred.

    Minimum 5-7+ years of Sales leadership or Merchant level experience with Target.

    Extensive retail experience within general merchandise or a related category preferred.

    Proven track record of supervising, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.

    Experience driving strategic account growth and implementing long-term planning processes.

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:

    Exceptional strategic planning and decision-making skills.

    Advanced proficiency in business analysis tools, including MS Excel and other data platforms.

    Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams.

    Deep knowledge of retail account management, including forecasting, budgeting, and sales planning.

    Outstanding reputation for integrity and collaboration.

    In-depth understanding of retailer strategies and competitive dynamics within the industry.

    Exceptional forecasting and trend analysis capabilities.

    Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Result Areas and Activities

1.    Strategic Account Development & Leadership (40%)

    Build and maintain strong partnerships with senior-level executives at the retailer, including buying, planning, and inventory teams.

    Develop and execute comprehensive strategic plans to drive revenue growth and long-term account success.

    Act as the lead negotiator for contracts and agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.

    Anticipate and address retailer needs, challenges, and market trends to create tailored solutions.

    Lead cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product development, customer service, and supply chain teams to align on account strategies.

2.    Revenue Growth & Profitability (15%)

    Establish and present profitable sales plans that align with corporate objectives and account-specific goals.

    Identify and capitalize on new revenue streams, including promotional opportunities and exclusive product offerings.

    Monitor account performance against KPIs, ensuring consistent delivery on revenue and profitability targets.

    Implement strategic pricing actions to optimize margins and competitiveness.

3.    Financial Oversight & Budget Management (10%)

    Manage account-level budgets, including promotional spend, with a focus on ROI.

    Partner with finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and budget alignment.

    Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for optimization.

4.    Strategic Planning & Forecasting (15%)

    Drive the creation of data-driven, long-term sales forecasts, incorporating historical trends, POS data, and market insights.

    Oversee inventory flow programs for both import and domestic channels, ensuring alignment with lead times and retailer needs.

    Collaborate with supply chain and demand planning teams to ensure accurate and timely product availability.

    Align all forecasts with national and retailer-specific promotional plans, ensuring seamless communication across teams.

5.    Team Development & Cross-Functional Communication (20%)

    Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing account management team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

    Act as the primary advocate for the retailer within MGA, ensuring their needs and feedback are effectively communicated to internal stakeholders.

    Proactively share competitive insights, sales opportunities, and product feedback with leadership and product development teams.

    Represent MGA at retailer meetings and industry events, demonstrating thought leadership and strategic vision.
